Thanks for the recommendation. I checked out the account and realized I already follow it. It was wonderful to learn about the collector behind this account of exquisite watches. Thanks again for sharing.
Agree with you on the Otsuka. The AP Starwheel does look great on the wrist, and I personally prefer the rose gold version. It also does not seem like an easy model to obtain from the AP boutique, despite being part of the Code collection. Take care, my friend.
Still undecided if Iβll try to add a wandering hour .. but Iβll get an Ostuka one of these days!
Many wandering watches donβt have seconds or a running indicator, which makes it a non starter for me.
The AP looked great at a glance with that big sweep seconds .. but watch nerd OCD kicked in and noticed the seconds hand doesnβt reach the seconds track .. by a long shot. Ug, itβs dead to me π’
Looking forward to hearing what watch you decide to go with!
Canβt get past the seconds had on the AP starwheelβ¦ why is it there? Are AP clientele in need of a reminder that itβs a mechanical watch? Goes completely against the philosophy of a wandering hoursβ¦ both previous iterations of the AP starwheels didnβt have a seconds hand.
For fans of wandering hours or jump hour watches, I recommend following an account on Instagram which is a great resource, @jumphourking
The account is run by Ruud van Rijn, a private collector who owns what might be the world's largest private collection of jump hour watches.
Ruud's expertise is vast and he has given internal presentations on jump hour watches to MB&F, AP, and Urwerk to mention a few.

Of these three, value-wise, the Otsuka is hard to beat, but the AP looks great on you. That Moser just feels... uninspiring π

Love all 3 but the Moser speaks to me even as someone that has some of the other Otsuka watches
Iβd go for the 5 Kai, if I could obtain one at retail price, simply because the others are outrageously priced!
Good choice. I hope you find a way to get one at retail.
Well written comparison across a variety of brands. That 5 Kai is something special
Thanks, and I agree that the 5 Kai is one of a kind. Take care, my friend.

Haha, some people may prefer a seconds indicator. Please see the comment below. Have a great week.
